Privacy policy
Your media stays yours.
GlancePlayer plays media you choose and creates subtitles and translations on your device. The app has no account system, advertising, analytics SDK, or cross-app tracking.
Information collected by the app
The current version of GlancePlayer does not collect personal information for the developer. It does not create accounts, include advertising or analytics SDKs, build a viewing profile, sell data, or track you across apps or websites.
Media, decoded audio, generated transcripts, and translations are not uploaded to a GlancePlayer-operated server. GlancePlayer does not operate a cloud media, speech-recognition, translation, or purchase-receipt backend.
Files and on-device processing
GlancePlayer reads only media you select through the system file picker, open with the app, or access from a server you configure. Playback, audio decoding, subtitle timing, and the app's speech-recognition pipeline run on your device.
System speech and translation features depend on Apple frameworks and installed language resources. When system speech is unavailable, GlancePlayer can use WhisperKit locally.
Models and language resources
Speech models or language resources may be downloaded on demand from Apple or the pinned WhisperKit model host. Those providers may receive ordinary connection data, such as an IP address, needed to deliver the download under their own terms.
Your media, audio, transcript, and translation are not included in model-download requests.
Network sources and credentials
If you unlock network sources and configure FTP or SMB 2/3, GlancePlayer connects directly to the server address you provide. Non-sensitive server settings are stored locally; passwords are stored in the system Keychain. Credentials, authenticated URLs, and full sensitive paths are not intentionally written to app logs.
FTP credentials and media traffic can be exposed to others on the network. Use FTP only on a network you trust, or choose SMB 2/3 where appropriate.
Purchases and local storage
Apple processes the one-time Network Sources purchase through StoreKit. GlancePlayer checks verified transactions on device and does not send receipts to a developer server. Apple may process purchase data under its own privacy policy.
Preferences, non-sensitive server entries, security-scoped file access information, and downloaded model artifacts remain in app-controlled storage until you remove them, clear app data, or uninstall the app, subject to operating-system behavior.
This website and support email
This is a static website hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It has no sign-in, cookies, analytics, advertising, or support form. Cloudflare may process standard web-request data needed to deliver the pages.
If you email support, the developer and email provider receive the address, message, and attachments you choose to send. They are used to respond and retained only as needed for support, safety, and legal obligations. Do not send passwords or authenticated server URLs.
Sharing, children, and your choices
Because the app does not collect your media or generated subtitles for the developer, the developer does not share or sell them. GlancePlayer is a general-purpose media tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
You control the files and servers you open. You can remove saved servers, downloaded resources, and the app at any time using the app or operating-system controls.
Changes and contact
This policy will be updated if GlancePlayer's data handling changes. Account login, cloud processing, analytics, advertising, crash reporting, a web support form, or server-side receipt processing would require a new review of this policy and the App Store privacy information.
